These alternator kits are FAA PMA Certified to replace the vast majority of popular general aviation alternators. They include everything you need to replace your current alternator using the existing belt and brackets. Where required, the kit will also include brackets, spacers and hardware.

The Plane-Power alternator can produce all 70 amps if proper size wiring and circuit breaker is installed and approved. *Also, Teledyne Continental alternator installations used a wide variety of V-belts. Plane-Power recommends the use of TCM P/N 539547-32.00 for most installations of AL12-F60 alternators on TCM engines.

Hello, I curious on this alternator AL12-P70, what RPM speed do you need to run this alternator? I am with an OEM for an electrical distribution and we are developing test capabilities and this alternator was mentioned so I need to know how fast a motor needs to run to operate this alternator. Thank you.

The AL12-P70 (07-01001) is considered a Prestolite replacement. The AL12-P70 (reuses some in place Prestolite mounting parts) and the AL12-70 (kit includes all required mounting parts) are primary alternators used on Lycoming Engines. Both are designed to operate at cruse anywhere between 6000 and 9000 alternator RPM. Generally speaking this means the engine RPM would be somewhere between 2000 and max cruse RPM.

Do you need a capacitor for this alternator, or is it built in?

Per the manufacturer: Plane Power alternators do not include capacitor's in their alternators.

I have a 24-Volt Cessna 172N. Will I need the bracket, or will the one for the old DOFF alternator work? Is the AL24-F60 the correct replacement?

Yes, P/N# 07-00999 will work with a Cessna 172N. The bracket is not included in the kit.

Which breaker do I need with alternator AL12-P70?, is 40 Amp OK?

You can use a 70 amp breaker. If your aircraft is rated for 40 amps you may want to keep the 40 amp breaker. There is not one specific breaker that we recommend.

Interested in the AL12-C60 in some pictures they have belts and tensioner bracket where it is slotted to adjust your belt tension and in other pictures there is not. Does this alternator come with the bracket?

No. This does not come with this bracket.

Id like to purchase a AL12-F60C alternator kit for a C180. Does the kit contains all necessary installation brackets? Also is the alternator comes with an internal voltage regulator?

No, this does not include a bracket. You must use the one already installed. No, they do not have internal voltage regulation built in.

Where do I find the weight for Plane Power alternator AL12-C60?

This will be 10.9lbs.

Yes, this is externally regulated.
