The BPE-14 TURBO ALTERNATOR was designed to be installed on most classic, antique and home built aircraft without an electrical system.

This is a new design of the old Wind Generator, using the newest in technology techniques and materials. Particular effort was made to optimize the power output (6 amps at 85 mph), with size (5" in diameter), and weight (5 pounds).

STC'd for several aircraft, the unit contains the Turbo Alternator with built-in regulator, and installation kit. A battery is not needed but the Turbo alternator will only produce current while flying.

Is there an STC for the installation of this unit on a Taylorcraft BC12-D?

Yes, these are approved for installation on a Taylorcraft BC12D.

Can I pick which color it comes in or is it just yellow?

It is available in other colors. You will be asked to fill in which color you would like during the checkout process.

The spec say 6 amps at 85 mph, is it regulated to 6 amps or will it make more at 100 mph? If so how many more(ballpark)?

The current of the alternator is almost proportional to the airspeed/10, i.e. at 70mph, the current is about 6-7 amps, and at 100mph, the output is about 10 amps. The regulator controls the voltage at 13-14 Vdc and the current is proportional to airspeed.
