Sunbeam landing/taxi/recognition light that features two intense Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). Featuring a 50,000 hour life, the Sunbeams are produced in a rectangular format to fit the Cirrus SR-22, a variety of LSAs and experimental aircraft.

A leader in LED technology, AeroLEDs has created a reliable light source that requires only 25 watts of power to produce over 100 watts or 91,000 candela which amounts to 3,300 lumens. Featuring wig-wag capability, the AeroLEDs on any aircraft can be seen in hazy daylight long before people can make out the airframe and because of their long life they can be active at all times. Individual lights have a built in pulsing capability that is nearly as effective as the wig-wagging.

Sunbeams can be installed by an IA, using a 337 form for certificated aircraft. The IA will file the paperwork. In most circumstances the light will outlast the life of the aircraft.

Like all AeroLEDs products, the Sunbeam is complete sealed and is very rugged. It is protected against overheating with a built-in protection circuit and is also secured against lightning, voltage spikes, reverse voltage and under voltage conditions. The Sunbeam is 2.8” high, 4.03” wide and 1.36” deep

Вопросы и ответы
Does this unit have a mounting bracket available?

Per the supplier: No. There is no mounting bracket available for this unit.

When the description of the AeroLEDs Sunbeam says landing/taxi light, does that mean it has a narrow beam and a wide beam in the same unit?

The manufacturer recommends that this be used as a landing light. However, it is a narrow beam, but since they are LEDs they have a wider range. This means that the light can be used as either a landing or taxi light.

What is the warranty period for these AEROLEDS SUNBEAM LANDING TAXI RECOGNITION LIGHT PMA / FAA?

Lights come with a 5 year warranty period from date of purchase.

What is the awg and number of conductors included in the wire harness?

3 conductor, 20 ga wire.

What does the harness consist of? Is it just wire or is it a wire with a mating connector for the light? Does the light without the harness come with a connector or just a bare pig tail?

The harness consists of a male/female cpc connector and the length of wire selected (7,12,or 15 feet). The light without harness is simply the light with a 6 inche bare wire lead.

Putting out 55,000 candela, I calculate an airplane with this light should be able to be seen almost 2 miles away. Could you check with the manufacturer to see if thats right.

Per the manufacturer this unit puts out 80,000 candela and can be seen from 2 miles away.

Do you know if the AeroLED Sunbeam landing / taxi light is certified by the EASA too?

This light has FAA certification. We cannot confirm EASA acceptability. Please contact your local flight administration for eligibility and legality.

Is it possible to install it to Piper PA-46-310P like taxi lights?

No these cannot be installed as taxi lights on this aircraft.

Is this compatible for a cirrus sr22 s/n 0851?

The vendor does not have an application guide based on the Serial numbers of aircraft. You would need to look at the dims on the data sheet to determine that it is the correct fit for your aircraft.

Does this have an AML/STC for a cirrus SR22T?

These are PMA'd but I do not show a specific stc for Cirrus. They are designed to replace Whelen 70346 series lights, so if you have that on your aircraft these will work.

Are there any STCs for installing this light in a wooden wing? MY A/P says that we can use that and get a field STC from the FAA.

The only STC that has been issued at this time is for the Air Tractor that is owned by Cascade Aircraft Conversion (Scott 509-635-1212) located in the state of Washington.
