Aircraft manufacturers typically use PVC plastic to construct their exterior fairings. This is great unless you subject them to heat, cold, sun, or rain. Kinda like what an airplane operates in. This material was not meant for this type of environment. So, Met-Co-Aire figured they could do better… and they did.

All Met-Co-Aire products are constructed of hand laid up, aircraft grade fiberglass in a polyester resin matrix. They come covered with a white gel-coat that serves as a primer for painting.
