Per the manufacturer: No. This item is bezel lit (edge lit), not backlit.

When wired through the aircraft master switch, will the clock hold its time when the master switch is off?

This clock will require a constant power source. If power is removed it will have to be reset.

Does this clock have a sweep second hand?

No, the MDL90L second hand ticks.
