How can I connect the Garmin Glo with a Garmin 696 or newer?

The 696 has it's own internal gps receiver. The Glo is designed to provide GPS data to an ipad, iphone, or android device.

What is the difference between the GLO 2 and the GLO for aviation?

The upgrades are in battery life which is now up to 13 hours, the speed in which it locks onto satellites which is 20% faster, and an included 6-month subscription to Garmin Pilot app.

How is the GLO 2 different than the previous product? My older Garmin GLO has difficulty when placed in a sunlit cockpit. An hour or so would lead to a shutoff and required a reboot in cooler conditions. Hence my GLO is in pile of not so great airplane acquisitions.

The battery life has been extended by an hour and the subscription to Garmin Pilot is included.

I have aN iPhone 4, will this Garmin Glo 2 work with it?

Yes, this will provide GPS signal to an iOS device using a Bluetooth connection.
