Yes, this will work for a Cessna 172. Yes, it will, order the High Wing 4 Place cover.

Does the cover fit on a Piper Cherokee Six?

Yes, the low wing 4 place should work on the Cherokee Six. That would be part # 13-21094. Keep in mind that this model is meant to be used on a 4 place aircraft and the Cherokee Six is a 6 place aircraft. We cannot guarantee a perfect fit.

Will the 2 place low wing cover fit an RV7 well? Also, is there a soft liner or is the material itself soft enough not to scratch the bubble canopy?

Per the manufacturer: Yes, it will work with an RV7 and it is made out of a spandex type material that will not scratch the canopy.
