LOCK OPEN OIL DRAIN VALVES
Changing hot engine oil has never been easier! With the SAF-AIR oil drain valve, no wrench is needed to remove the drain plug. A simple push and turn of the SAF-AIR valve locks it in the open position. The valve is made completely from anodized aluminum and stainless steel components. These materials are used throughout the aircraft industry due to their strength and durability. FAA & PMA APPROVED.

Product Notes:

NEVER fly the aircraft with the drain hose attached to the oil drain valve.
Make sure that your landing gear will not activate the oil drain valve when you retract the gear inside the fuselage.
Remember, the valve may fit on your engine, but it is your responsibility to make sure that the valve will work with your application.

What SAF-AIR size /type /P.N. of lockopen oil drain valve would be needed for a Cont. TSIO-360FB engine?

Per the Application Chart in the "Overview" tab of this web page, the recommened oil drain valve for the TSIO-360FB engine is S6250 (our part number 06-00637). We recommend you always check your currenlty installed valve to verify correct replacement.

What is the o ring replacement number for the P5000?

2 each of AN6227B-6 and 1 each of AN6227B-7 are the replacement o-rings for the valve.

What is the o-ring replacement number for mfr number S6250 (PN 06-00637)?

Drain valve S6250 requires qty 2 AN6227B-6 and qty 1 AN6227B-7 o-rings, and qty 1 AN900-10 copper crush gasket for installation.

Does drain valve Saf-Air P5000 include o-ring for installation or do we have to order it separately?

The P5000 has o-rings installed at the factory, and has 1/2"NPT threads to install in the sump. No other o-rings are required for a new installation.

How do I know if I have the late model Rotax oil tank? I just am not sure if I need the adaptor you have listed.

If the engine was produced after mid 2015 it will have the late model tank.

What is the total length of the P5000 oil drain?

Approx 2.625 inches total length.

I have bought the P5000 that I have installed, which fitting do I need to order to connect a flexible tube to this valve?

You will not need a separate fitting as the valve already has a nipple hose connection attached to it.

Do crush washers come with these drain valves? And can you confirm the correct replacement crush washer for the M12175 valve?

It does come with the crush gasket and the replacement would be an AN900-7.

How long is the valve beyond the threads (from where it bottoms out when fully installed to the copper seal) and what is the diameter of the widest part? - S6250.

This measures 2" from top of the nut to the end of the nipple. The widest part of this unit is 15/16".

I have a S5020J, what are the replacement o-rings?

This would take qty: 1 of P/N# 04-03836.

What valve fits a Contintenal C-85?

You can use either P/N#'s 05-00981 or 06-00637 for this engine.
