Yes, the Cleveland 40-77A wheel is FAA approved for installation on some certified aircraft. Any certification paperwork will need to be requested at time of order.

Is the 40-77A approved to replace a 40-77? All parts in the IPC are identical.

Per Cleveland: The 40-77A cannot be substituted for the 40-77 because they are related to certain applications. For the Cessna 172K, you would need to stick with P/N# 40-77.
