Can you use this wire for the CHT extension?

No. Part # 15-05240 is for CHT extension use.

Is this type k thermocouple extension wire? Does it work well on a garmin G3x cht and egt installation?

P/N 15-05240 is a Type J extension wire, P/N 15-05244 is a Type K extension wire. We do not have any data to support this would work on the G3X. Recommended wire would be P/N 10-18600
