I have the GoPro Hero 3 with the LCD screen. Will the 3.5 end plug into the LCD screen and record that way or do I also need to by the micro USB to 3.5 adapter in order for it to pick up the sound?

Does this work with low-impedance military headsets?

No, this is designed to be used with high impedance general aviation helicopter headsets.
