Описание

The Short, 14", Flexible VHF Antenna is tuned to the frequency range 118-137MHz for use with airband radios.

The antenna is designed for mounting into the metal or composite skin of an aircraft For use in glass fibre structures. the antenna is supplied with a self adhesive aluminium foil ground~plane.

To minimise the length of the antenna element. the design incorporates a base tuning coil. The short flexible element makes the antenna suitable for mounting on the nose or underneath many aircraft.

The lead is fitted with an FME plug at the antenna feed and a BNC plug for direct connection to a radio. The lead is one metre long (three feet).

Вопросы и ответы
What is the overall length of the antenna and can it be tuned by trimming the antenna?

The antenna is about 14 inches long and cannot be cut.

Will this antenna work inside a carbon fiber aircraft like the Lancair Legacy?

Yes, this antenna will work through wood & fabric and composite aircraft like carbon fiber.

Can the Lynx VFH antenna be mounted inside a wood and fabric wing or must it be mounted externally?

As long as the aircraft is of a wood and fabric or composite design you can mount your Com antenna inside the aircraft.

I have a 100 MPH plane, will this antennae bend back more than 30 degrees if installed on the top of the plane and at 100 MPH?

Lynx only recommends installing this antenna on the nose or belly of the aircraft. There has been no testing done on the degrees of bend at 100mph.

Can the rubber antenna be detached from the antenna base so that I can cover the aircraft for storage without damaging the antenna?

The VHF Antenna has a flexible antenna element which screws onto the installed antenna base. This makes it easy to fit and remove.

Can it be mounted inside a tube and fabric plane such as a pacer?

Yes, this can be used in a fabric aircraft.

Can this antenna be bent to a 45 degrees or more for mounting on the belly of a low aircraft?

Per the installation manual: the maximum is 30 degree bend.

Can this be installed on certified aircraft?

No, this antenna is not FAA Approved. It is intended for installation in experimental aircraft only.
