what is the rough opening this will fit in?

For part number 11-13400 the opening must be .8" x .8"

I need to create hole in instrument panel to install this. What is the process of installing?What size drill bit for the whole? There is a flat side of the threaded portion of the body so the hole is not really totally round. Just a little puzzled. Don't want to drill into customers instrument panel without knowing the details.
